This paper is made from the bark of Dướng, a local plant that belongs to the same group as mulberry.
Dướng paper is made with the same technique as Dó paper. The difference in its fiber structure makes it stronger, yet not as smooth Do paper.
Dướng paper is produced by our artisans in Hoa Binh province, stemmed from the plan of a NGO in 2006, with the intention to create more jobs for the poor community here. Ever since Zó project started working with them, their income has become more stable, and sometimes they can earn 3 times more than they used to.
This paper is more suitable for crafting or decorative/interior design items like lampshade, etc. It’s harder to print on Dướng than Dó paper.
